Arsenal ‘make official €60m offer’ for ‘special’ talent but club are told ‘race is open’

Arsenal have reportedly made an ‘official’ €60m offer to Shakhtar Donetsk in a bid to sign their in-form winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukraine international has caused a stir in recent months, as he has eight goals and seven assists in 15 games this season.

He especially impressed in the Champions League, as he was involved in five goals in Shakhtar’s six group stage games.

Kevin Campbell recently suggested that Mudryk ‘is going to be something special’.

Naturally, a big move seems in the offing for Mudryk, who has He openly admitted that he would love to sign for Arsenal.

The Gunners are really interested in him but stopped short of making an official offer during the summer transfer window.

This came before his appearance in 2022/23 and, at the time, Arsenal were unwilling to pay more than €35m to secure his services.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal had talks with Mudryk’s agents in the summer.

“Mudryk is one of my favorite talents. He is doing very well with Shakhtar and they were very strong in the negotiations during the summer,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“In the last two or three weeks of August, Shakhtar was approached by many clubs.

He added: “Arsenal approached Mudryk’s agents but never made an official offer in August.

“They decided not to negotiate with Shakhtar because they wanted much more than 35 million euros.”

Mudryk’s reputation has skyrocketed in recent months and Shakhtar Donetsk is likely to benefit greatly from that.

Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale has now reported via Twitter that Arsenal have submitted their first ‘official offer’ to sign Mudryk.

It is said to be worth 60 million euros. and Shakhtar are taking some time to think about the offer before responding.

However, Romano has different information than Di Natale. The ‘Here We Go’ specialist has stated that “no official offer has arrived” from any club for Mudryk.

“There is a possibility that he will leave in January, there is a possibility. But it depends on the price,” continued Romano.

“When I see that around 45-50 million euros are mentioned, Shakhtar wants much more than this. They consider him one of the best talents in the world, especially in his position.

“That is why they want around 65-70 million euros for Mudryk, no less than this. The price will be really high. So it’s not absolutely easy.

“We heard rumors of an official offer from Arsenal for Mudryk. What I can tell you is that my information, speaking to Shakthar’s sources, is clear. They have yet to receive an official offer for Mudryk.

“Many clubs are interested but there is no official offer yet. Let me say that Arsenal are still working on it and they are in contact on the player side.

“Arsenal consider Mudryk to be a great talent, so yes, they are still interested in him. They love him and follow him.

“Let’s keep an eye on this deal, but the race is still open for other clubs.”
