New Zealand have won the Rugby World Cup after a dramatic 34-31 victory over England at Eden Park.

Center Stacey Fluhler chased down a chip and unloaded at the tackle for Leti-l’iga to put New Zealand in front for a second time, and the Black Ferns held on to shock the tournament favourites.

A hat-trick by hooker Amy Cokayne from the rolling maul and tries by flanker Marlie Packer and full-back Ellie Kildunne kept England ahead for almost 15 of the 80 minutes, but could not prevent the anguish of Simon Middleton’s side. .
