Bruno Guimaraes admits Newcastle fans are ‘crazy’ about him

Newcastle United fans absolutely love Bruno Guimaraes, and have since day one.

When he was first named on the Magpies’ bench against Everton in February, he was greeted with chants of ‘Bruno, Bruno, Bruno’. He hadn’t even kicked a ball.

Then he started playing and the love for Bruno grew stronger. She has been a standout ever since he moved from Lyon for £35m and became a hero at St James’ Park.

Bruno has the potential to become a Premier League superstar and has been one of the best players in the entire division so far this season. It’s a pleasure to watch him play for Newcastle, and he’s well on his way to becoming a club legend.

The 25-year-old is adored on Tyneside and has now spoken out about some of his encounters with the Toon Army.

Bruno on the Newcastle fans

Bruno has been speaking to the Brazilian outlet UOL ahead of the World Cup and spoke about the affection he receives from Newcastle fans.

“The boys are crazy about me, I swear,” Bruno said.

“It’s a bit similar to what Athletico fans did, but maybe a little more. He had never experienced this.

“I was recently told that 70% of the team’s jersey sales are in my name. I’ve seen people with tattoos of my face, flags with my face, music. I hit him with a half meter pass and they sing ‘Bruno, Bruno’. My shirt is all over town. Wherever I go on the street, I take a photo, I feel like a mayor. The boys yell my name.

“I don’t understand, but I’m happy.”

Our best player for a long time.

The love Bruno receives is insane, but it’s a testament to the way he plays in black and white. He is probably one of the best players the club has ever had.

The way he ties the whole team together is transformative, and we’re a much worse team without him. Goals, assists, tricks, moves and tackles – he can literally do it all.

You may think you get acclaim for the simple things, but it’s the way you make it look simple.

Bruno better get used to being harassed by Toon fans, because he’s not going to stop. The mood at the club is excellent at the moment, and will surely only improve further given the ambitions of the owners.

And Bruno is a big part of those plans. He is a player of the present and the future, and he will play a big part in whatever success Newcastle has in the years to come.

We have Bruno in the middle…
