India’s star batsman Virat Kohli showed his classic form in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2022. The right-handed batsman was the leading run-scorer at the prestigious ICC event, totaling 296 runs in six matches. Kohli was going through a rough patch, but the tables turned in his favor after he crushed his most anticipated 71st century against Afghanistan, at the 2022 Asian Cup. Over the years, the 34-year-old batsman has cemented his place in the Indian team. and he emerged as one of the world’s deadliest hitters. Australia batsman Steve Smith recently lavished praise on Kohli, calling him a “phenomenal player”.
“He (Virat Kohli) is a world-class player in all three formats of play. He’s scored a lot of runs and he’s a phenomenal player,” Steve Smith said.

Kohli began his T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with a pivotal 82 unmatched by rivals Pakistan to anchor his team to a thrilling four-wicket victory at the final ball.
And further hits of 64 against Bangladesh, 62 against the Netherlands and 50 against England in the semi-finals helped round out an individual competition to savor for one of the greatest white-ball batsmen of the modern era.
Kohli, along with Suryakumar Yadav, was named to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) World Cup 2022 Most Valuable Squad. Apart from Kohli, Suryakumar also put in a spectacular performance in the tournament finishing as the third most prolific batsman with 239 runs in total.
