The battle for the remaining three spots came down to Sunday’s games, with the Hurricanes, Strikers, Heat and Scorchers all in the running.

The Hurricanes had a chance to claim second place but had to settle for fourth after their eight wicket defeat to the Sixers on Sunday.

The Perth Scorchers were unlucky enough to miss out on the top four; they arrived on Sunday needing to defeat the Melbourne Renegades to keep their season alive, but ended up on the wrong end of a rain-reduced affair at Moe’s Ted Summerton Reserve.

Tickets for all the matches of the final phase will go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 local time in both Adelaide and Sydney.

Rain has wiped out five matches so far this season, and there is a reserve day for the final, which will be played on Sunday, November 27 from 5:20pm AEDT.

“This has been a fantastic season for the WBBL, highlighted by our return to the home market of each team across the country. Fans have been treated to quality cricket on the pitch and a brilliant experience off it,” Alistair Dobson, Manager Cricket Australia overall, Big Bash. Garters, he said.

“We look forward to welcoming fans to Karen Rolton Oval and North Sydney Oval next week to witness another epic series of finals.”
