Crunch snap skid with win over Marlies

The Syracuse Crunch (8-8-2-2) snapped a three-game skid Saturday night with a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Marlies (12-7-1-0) at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The game was tied at one after two periods of play, but Syracuse scored two goals late in the third period, one of which came on an empty net to clinch the win.

Alex Barre-Boulet, Felix Robert and Cole Koepke found the back of the net for the Crunch. Shawn Element, Gemel Smith and Declan Carlile collected assists. Max Lagace made 26 saves, including 13 in the final period.

Syracuse went 1 for 3 on the power play and 3 for 4 on the penalty.

The Crunch will have a few days off before returning to the ice and taking on the Rochester Americans on Wednesday night at Blue Cross Arena. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
