Carrot Weather gets mini-games, live activity support for all precipitation, layout redesign, more

Following the release of support for Live Activities on the lock screen and Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro, Carrot Weather received its latest update today. The release includes a new mini-game experience, a major update to the layout screen, live activity support for all rushes, and more.

Carrot Weather received a major update alongside iOS 16 with 20 lock screen widgets, 10 new custom-designed sections, a three-column layout for iPad, Apple WeatherKit support, and more. Then in October with iOS 16.1 came Live Activities support for Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

Continuing the consistent updates, Carrot Weather 5.9 has expanded live activity support, added a new “Linking Activities” minigame with Carrot’s fun and sarcastic AI, an overhauled layout screen including a new “inline” layout. and wind particles. visualization and more.

Features of Carrot Weather 5.9

  • Linking activities. Enhance your relationship with the homicidal AI CARROT by completing different mini-games, such as charging her power cells, praising her greatness out loud (using speech recognition APIs), and debugging her code. There is an inventory system based on the gifts CARROT gives you, and you can combine gifts to create new items (just like in an adventure game). And if you can get CARROT to appreciate you enough, you can even start a “romance” with her. (I haven’t had this much fun working on a new feature in a long time!)
  • Live activities. CARROT now supports live activities for *all* precipitation, not just rain that will start soon. So now you can track the total duration of a storm right from your lock screen and Dynamic Island.
  • Designs 3.0. A major redesign of the Design screen, the new Design Gallery helps you find the perfect design through interactive, scrollable previews, and editing designs you create yourself has never been easier.
  • Design “in line”. The much-requested online layout is filled with vertical charts, data point selectors, and expanding online daily details.
  • Wind particles. Add animated wind particles to your weather maps, perfect for helping you visualize major weather events like hurricanes.

Carrot Weather 5.9 is now available on the App Store as a free download for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Premium, Ultra, and Family subscriptions are available as in-app purchases to unlock all of the app’s features.
