Hindi version of ‘Kantara’ will stream on Netflix starting December 9

The Hindi version of the acclaimed film Kantara by actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty will stream on Netflix starting December 9.

Produced under the banner of Hombale Films by Vijay Kiragandur, Kantara is an action adventure written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also stars in the film alongside Sapthami Gowda, Kishore Kumar G. and Achyuth Kumar in lead roles.

The Kannada original hit the screens on 30 September. The film started streaming on Amazon Prime Video on 24 November in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu dubs. However, there was no news about the Hindi version of the film, until now.

“I am absolutely thrilled that Kantara (Hindi) is coming to Netflix! It’s great to see our story reaching global audiences in over 190 countries. The film showcases a never-before-seen culture and Shiva’s struggle for his nature and his people, making Netflix the perfect service to showcase a story as diverse as Kantara’s,” Rishab said in the announcement.

Furthermore, it was announced today that the film will also be available in English and that the English dubbed version will stream on Netflix starting in January 2023.

The story of Kantara is set around a small community living in the forests of Kaadubettu in the southern coastal state of Karnataka. Weaving an interesting plot of conflict between humans and nature, where death leads to war between the villagers and the forces of evil and Shiva, a rebel defends the village from him and nature from him.
