  • Isolated snow/rain likely over Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh. Singular rain is likely over Meghalaya, Assam and Nagaland.
  • Air quality can become very poor in North, Central, East and West India.
  • In the early morning hours, dense to very dense fog can cover parts of northern, central and eastern India; Dense fog is likely to be found in parts of North East India.

Sunday (January 1, 2023)

  • Isolated snow/rain likely over Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh. Singular rain is likely over Meghalaya and Assam.

A new weak western disturbance is likely to cause isolated light to scattered showers/snowfalls over the western Himalayas on January 3-4.

cold day conditions they are most likely in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh and Delhi on January 1-3, and Uttar Pradesh on January 2-3.

cold snap conditions may seize isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi from January 1-4; over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and northern Rajasthan from January 2-4 and over West Uttar Pradesh from January 3-4.

Light, moisture-laden winds over the Indo-Gangetic plains will result in dense to very dense fog over pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on 31 December; Uttar Pradesh from January 1-5 and Northern Rajasthan from January 1-2.

Dry conditions will prevail in the country, with some exception of isolated snow in the higher reaches of North East India.

As we head into next week, the cooler trend in Delhi and the NCR on both highs and lows will become more pronounced.
