MONTERREY, NL – FOTON México held the launch ceremony of the first 142 AUV buses that will be used for the different urban routes in Nuevo León. The act was carried out in the company of Governor Samuel García. These are the first units of a total order for 400 buses.
Monterrey is the third most populous city in Mexico and needs units that run on cleaner energy. FOTON buses work with Compressed Natural Gas, with Cummins engines and Allison transmissions, which guarantees its quality.
The units will contribute to improving the quality of life of users with the comfort and safety that these vehicles offer for their daily commute. Part of FOTON’s commitment is to bring well-being to the communities.
The FOTON AUVs will help comply with the Nuevo León mobility master plan, which will benefit 4.6 million users daily in the different metropolitan areas.
In addition, this order means reducing the environmental impact in the State, since buses can reduce particulate matter (PM) emissions by up to 87%, nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 15% and up to 100% carbon monoxide; These data are supported by the tests carried out.
FOTON transportation solutions are becoming a great ally for Mexican governments, who trust in the quality of the vehicles. Providing these types of options that work with more environmentally friendly energy is part of FOTON’s commitment to the world.
