Webtoon app not working, not loading or not working? try this solution

New updates are being added at the end of this story…….

The original story (published on January 23, 2023) is as follows:

Webtoon is one of the most popular webcomic platforms in the world. Millions of people enjoy stories of all kinds through the app and the site.

The platform is full of web comics, manga, manhwa, and traditional comics that you can even download. In fact, One Punch Man, one of the most popular manga and anime franchises, was born on the Webtoon.

Unfortunately, recently several users have been facing an issue where the Webtoon app has crashed, not loading or working for them. However, there is a possible solution.

Webtoon app not working, not loading or working

Multiple reports indicate an ongoing outage on Webtoon’s servers that is affecting access to the platform from your app (one, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Some reports indicate that the problem has been present for approximately two days.

The Downdetector platform also reflects the increasing reports related to application outage.

That being said, the platform’s content is still accessible from its website, according to our tests.

Try this possible workaround

Fortunately, a simple solution has helped several users to regain access from the app. Basically the solution is to uninstall and reinstall it.

After uninstalling webtoon, the app works now! Webtoon is no longer down if you do this

There is still no official acknowledgment of the issue from the Webtoon team. We will update this story as events unfold in the future.

Update 1 (January 24, 2023)

08:39 a.m. (CST): The Webtoon team is already aware of the problem and also recommend reinstalling the app as a possible solution.

Hello best friends! 💚 We want to get you back to scrolling all night ASAP. 🥹

If you’re stuck on a green screen, delete your app and reinstall it. We recommend entering your login credentials first!

If even after reinstalling the app you are still having problems, you can contact them via email for additional help:

2:25 p.m. (CST): The team has now released an update for iOS users using the Webtoon app. Consequently, they ask users to perform one of the following actions.

Hello everyone! We’re back with an update for any iOS users who get stuck on a loading screen 💚

Step 1. Wait up to 3 minutes for the app to fix itself.
Step 2. If step 1 doesn’t work, remove and reinstall.

However, those using the website version (one,2,3) of the platform are still facing problems.

Update 2 (January 25, 2023)

09:12 a.m. (CST): The Webtoon app has a ‘coin’ system that allows readers to unlock full ‘premium’ comics, among other benefits. These coins can be purchased for real money or earned by completing challenges.

In addition, the coins are not permanent, but have an expiration date. That being said, some users are reporting that their coins expired during the outage (one, 2), so they couldn’t use them.

There is no official word on this topic from the Webtoon team.

Update 3 (January 26, 2023)

10:32 a.m. (CST): The Webtoon app again faced an outage a few hours ago (1, 2).

And while things are back to normal now, those who were reading stories for free were unable to continue reading due to the outage and are now part of the ‘Daily Pass’ (as a premium).

So, those affected now ask (one, 2) Webtoon to delay the integration of those stories into ‘Daily Pass’ as compensation for the recent interruption.
